Experienced all the aspects of state process for the child to become the responsibility

of the state. Screened the incoming calls that would be a concern individual

reporting mistreatment to their children. Scheduled home visits for the case workers

to go investigate the home. Attending meeting and helped come up with a solution to

the problem at hand. Reviewed files and made sure they were up to date with the

state required information. Participated in the independent living programs they

offer to the 16+ kids over the summer.

The most valued lesson that this internship gave me was taking the child away from

their parents could be worst or best decision for the child.

Working with the teenage girls in order to better them for returning to society. I was

in charge of writing out group notes and completing the daily logs of each of the

students that were in my care. I used therapeutic interventions in order to calm down

the escalated students and keep them from harming themselves.
