Responsible for Engineering, Planning and Project Managing for multiple
platform elements and services while executing a personal capital budget of
more than 10M to grow the regions plan to develop long term cost-effective
solutions for; EVDO/LTE data related projects, the transport and switching
of cell site, PSTN and Packet Data Network traffic. This includes utilizing
the internal PDSN, tandem network, microwave, and fiber infrastructure, as
well as, Interexchange and Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) leased
facilities. Collaborated with cross-functional groups within the Houston
Gulf Coast Region and other Regions across the South Area for the success
of the HGC Region. Negotiated with Multiple Major Vendors including
Cisco, Starent, ALU, GDT etc. to ensure that we maintain path, switch, and
vendor diversity where economically justified; devised routing schemes as
required to prevent blocked Data sessions. Played a lead role in vendor
management by documenting and tracking key service indicators; and actively
participates in quarterly vendor meetings. Worked with Maintenance
Engineering and Corporate planning to develop standards and guidelines as
necessary to ensure network integrity. Evaluated vendor RFQs as required
