PROJECT TEAM LEADER / SCHEDULER Superior Construction Co., - Gary,
IN
2007 - PRES.
BP Petrochemical Refinery, Whiting, IN - Involved in the management of a
multi-year, multi-billion dollar expansion of the BP Whiting Oil Refinery.
The overall concept of the expansion is to receive crude oil through pipe
lines from Canada. Responsibilities include P6 scheduling, Work Face
Planning, Labor and Cost Control.
ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER Walsh Construction Co. - Chicago, IL
2000 - 2007
Duties include: Purchasing, Expediting, Contract negotiation, Cost analysis
and control, Pay application submitting/reviewing, Owner relations, Scope
development, Subcontract coordination, Scheduling, Change order pricing and
implementation, Value engineering, Shop drawing review and submittal.
Dan Ryan Express Lane Reconstruction, Chicago, IL - two separate 70 million-
dollar, one year projects to reconstruct seven miles of the Dan Ryan
Express Lanes. The projects involved removal and installation of new storm
sewer, demolition of the existing road, reconstruction of new paving, and
various architectural improvements.
I-294 Widening, Chicago, IL - 165 million-dollar, two year, four mile
highway widening and reconstruction project. The project involved the
reconstruction of four large bridges and the addition of a travel lane both
NB and SB.
Chicago Skyway 106th St Reconstruction / Maintenance of Traffic, Chicago,
IL - 9 million-dollar, nine month project reconstructing a portion of the
Chicago Skyway. Primary aspects of the project were 100,000 SF of
reinforced earth retaining wall, engineered fill, pavement on grade, and
storm sewer. Simultaneous management of the Skyway MOT project. This 14
million-dollar, three year project involved the installation of a seven
mile surveillance system, traffic control to all other Skyway projects, a
movable barrier wall that was relocated 2 times per day to accommodate
increases in traffic flow. I performed both PM and Superintendent
responsibilities on this project.
John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, Chicago, IL - 350 million-dollar, five year
project to construct a new 1,200,000 SF county hospital. I was a member of
a large management team on this project.
PROJECT MANAGER Roy Anderson Corp - Jackson, MS
1999 - 2000
Duties similar to Walsh Construction plus: Estimating and Pre / post bid
analysis
Memorial Stadium Repair & Renovation, Jackson, MS - 8.9 million-dollar fast
track renovation project of an existing 46,000 seat football stadium.
Completed in half the contract duration and exceeded bid profit
significantly.
PROJECT MANAGER Cajun Constructors, Inc. - Dallas, TX
1997 - 1999
Duties similar to work performed at Roy Anderson Corp
Averitt Express Trucking Facility, Grand Prairie, TX - 7.5 million-dollar
trucking warehouse and distribution center with a multi level office
building and servicing center. The successful completion of this project
resulted in a negotiated contract for two more facilities.
Excel Beef Wastewater Treatment Expansion, Dodge City, KS - Cajun self-
performed over 75% of this 3.5 million-dollar project. With two months
remaining to completion, the owner requested the removal of Cajun's
superintendent. I then took over as Superintendent of a 20 man crew as
well as maintained my Project Manager duties.
OFFICE ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR Centex Construction Company, Inc. - Dallas,
TX
1995 - 1997
The Office Engineer position was held on-site at a 130 million-dollar VA
hospital expansion.
