2011-Present Great Dane Trailers Mfg Statesboro, GA Buyer/Fabrication Planner
First buyer hired for the industry leader at their new state-of-the-art refrigerated trailer manufacturing
facility in Statesboro, Georgia with an initial annual capacity of 5,000 refrigerated trailers. Multi-task in a
fast paced, start-up manufacturing environment to provide purchased and manufactured parts just-in-time.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and Maintain sources of supply to ensure proper product specification, cost-effectiveness
and on-time delivery for assigned commodity groups from qualified supply-chain sources.
• Execute purchasing and releases of materials in an MRP environment to ensure the flow of in-
bound materials align with the demand of production and fabrication in a timely manner.
• Communicate with Engineering, Fabrication, Production and Quality Assurance as it relates to
my assigned commodity groups to ensure all material requirements and delivery are met.
• 100% Accountability and Ownership as it relates to assigned commodity groups from soliciting
quotes, conducting bid evaluations, selection of supply sources and managing costs and delivery
to monitoring supplier performance, maintaining accuracy of on-hand product inventories and
resolving all problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, vendor payment, storage and
proper usage of materials in production.
• Develop, Maintain and Sustain supply-chain vendor relationships to ensure all assigned
commodity groups are multi-sourced with various vendor partners in order to keep constant flow
of materials regardless of market conditions or unanticipated disruption of product flow.
• Process and Coordinate weekly and daily metal fabrication work orders to ensure demand of
production for fabricated parts is met by our large in-house Fabrication Department. This duty
also includes all purchasing and maintaining of raw material in aluminum, stainless steel, carbon
steel and structural steel in the form of coil, sheet, plate and shape goods.
• Assures all supply-chain vendors continually meet all requirements and agreements of contracts
in place as it relates to all aspects from pricing, terms and delivery of product to quality, condition
and any special requirements of all assigned commodity groups.
• Estimate needs for quarterly, semi-annual and annual product contracts based on current, past and
future demand using history, deductive reasoning and short-term customer order files.
