> Successfully completed the 'Programmable logic controller' (PLC) at
CTTC Bhubaneswar.
> Programmable logic controller is a digital computer used
for automation of electromechanical processes, such as control of
machinery on factory. PLC is designed for multiple inputs and output
arrangements, extended temperature ranges, immunity to electrical
noise, and resistance to vibration and impact. Programs to control
machine operation are typically stored in battery-backed-up or non-
volatile memory. A PLC is an example of a hard real time system since
output results must be produced in response to input conditions within
a limited time, otherwise unintended operation will result.
PROJECTS:-

SUMMER PROJECT:-
> "Eddy current testing":-Eddy current testing uses electromagnetic
induction to detect flaws in conductive materials. It is particularly
well suited for detecting surface cracks but can also be used to make
electrical conductivity and coating thickness measurements. In a
standard eddy current testing a circular coil carrying current is
placed in proximity to the test specimen. The alternating current in
the coil generates changing magnetic field which interacts with test
specimen and generates eddy current. Variations in the phase and
magnitude of these eddy currents can be monitored. Variations in the
electrical conductivity or magnetic permeability of the test object,
or the presence of any flaws, will cause a change in eddy current and
a corresponding change in the phase and amplitude of the measured
current. This is the eddy current testing technique.
B.TECH PROJECT:-
> "speed control of DC motor using P,PI and PID controllers":-The
important characteristic of dc motor is speed. So the speed of dc
motor is controlled by using controllers by changing the controllers
constants . By the help of these controllers errors are minimized and
efficiency is increased.
