Objective

Professional Experience
2012-Present: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Bakersfield Family Medical Center North
West Clinic in Bakersfield, California. Responsibilities include, but not limited to assessing,
diagnosing, treating, evaluating treatment response, monitoring and interpreting labs, EKG, X-
rays, and providing appropriate referrals when indicated and performing minor procedures.
Services are provided to patients of all ages with complex medical conditions and those seeking
preventative measures. The complex medical and psychiatric ailments treated consist of, but are
not limited to asthma, COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, hypo- and hyper-
thyroidism, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, depression,
ADHD, psoriasis, and sexually transmitted diseases.
2007-2012: Registered Nurse (Staff RN), Progressive care /Intermediate Care Transfer Unit at
Tacoma General Hospital, a nationally ranked level II trauma hospital with over 400 beds and
expanding. Responsibilities include, but not limited to admitting acutely ill patients, providing
accurate and timely interventions by diligently monitoring and reporting any changes in cardiac,
neurological, or hematological changes for optimal patient outcome. Coordinating care with
various disciplines, counseling and involving patients and their families as an essential part of

their treatment plan. As well as providing individualized, patient centered care, whiles
consistently applying the principles of excellent customer service.
2006-2012: Registered Nurse (RN2), The Center for Forensic Services unit of Western State
Hospital, Lakewood, WA which is the largest inpatient psychiatric facility in the state of WA with
over 330 beds. Responsibilities include, but not limited to intake, mental status assessment,
participating in developing treatment plans and goals for the hospital stay and evaluating
patient's progress towards their set goals. As well as providing prescribed psychiatric and
medical treatment for patients with dual diagnosis. Patients are encouraged to reach their
potential by being partners in their plan of care.
Related Experience
March-2011-May 2012 As an FNP student, I gained substantial knowledge and skills by
completing over 630 hours of clinical experience at various sites including Multicare Health
System Urgent Care Clinic at Westgate-Tacoma; Mark Reed Hospital and Clinic in McCleary,
WA; Olympia Pediatrics, and Olympia and Eastside Women's Health in Olympia, WA.
Under the supervision of highly skilled and accomplished preceptors, I acquired valuable skills
of conducting thorough assessment, formulating differential diagnosis and choosing appropriate
diagnosis evidenced by compelling subjective and objective data. I worked with diverse groups
of patients presenting various healthcare needs including primary prevention, health
maintenance, and acute and debilitating chronic illnesses requiring emergent and high level of
care. Additionally, by the end of my clinical rotations I was able to independently diagnose,
create comprehensive treatment plans and goals accommodating patients' specific needs and
prescribe medications with preceptor approval. Furthermore, I performed and assisted preceptors
with minor surgeries, simple suturing, ordering and interpreting X-ray images and lab results.
