and Laboratory Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, PA

● Electroporated SS1 CD2ζ Chimeric Antigen Receptor ( CAR) RNA in Normal Donor

T cells, Cultured K562 ( Leukemia), L55, OVCAR, ASPC 1, and CALPAN 1 ( Lung,

ovarian, pancreatic and pancreatic cancer respectively) cell lines,

● Co Cultured the aforementioned T cells and Cancer cells to measure activity, proliferation,

markers of cytotoxicity, apoptosis and survival of T cells using Flow Cytometer and ELISA as

necessary

● Attended weekly Lab meetings

● Attended weekly seminars on translational science.

Summer Research Intern: May 2011 – Aug 2011

Lab of Dr. Karen Baskerville, Lincoln University, Biology Department, Lincoln University, PA (7

weeks) and,

Dr. Gelnn Rall, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Immune Cell Development and Host Defense, (3 weeks),

Isolated and purified DNA from transgenic mice tails using Phenol: Chloroform: Isoamyl alcohol.

Amplified p25 and Cd46 DNA sequences via PCR and checked DNA sequence using Gel

Electrophoresis.

● Qualitatively assessed presence of p25 and CD46 proteins through Immunofluorescence (IF) and

Immunohisto Chemistry ( IHC)

● Attended Weekly Lab meetings

Supplemental Instruction Leader: Nov 2010 – April 2012

Physics Department, Lincoln University, PA

● Responsible for organizing at least three, three hour physics study sessions per week with an average

attendance of 6students per session.

● 50% students began the sessions earning C grades, but each earned a final grade of at least an A by

the conclusion of the General Physics course

Summer Research Intern: May 2010 – Aug 2010

Lab of Dr. Joshua Muscat, Hershey Medical Center, Epidemiology Department, Hershey, PA

● Followed Western blot protocol to determine presence of 11β HSD 1 and Calnexin proteins in

lung cancer and non lung cancer patients.

● Attended Summer Undergraduate weekly Lectures on a variety of topics (e.g., cocaine addiction in

rats) by faculty from various departments (e.g., Neurology) of the Hershey Medical Center

● Observed graduate students and lab members perform different investigative techniques such as

PCR, UPLC, Cell Culture and Western blot.

● Attended two lab meetings where updates/overviews of the five (5) different research experiments

on lung or colorectal cancer being performed were given to the Principal Investigator
