Project Details:

Energy Meter Project

An Electronic equipment for measuring KWH, KVARH, Maximum Demand. The project covers 1

Ph. Energy Meter, 3 Ph. Energy Meter, Smart Meters for 1 Ph. and 3 Ph.

My Contribution: Orcad Schematic preparation, all products Assembling, Testing and Hardware

Support and faulty boards troubleshooting.

IAMR (Intelligence Automatic Meter Reader)

A micro controller with intelligence communicates between the Energy meter and the central server

using a GSM/GPRS modem. Completely remotely controlled and configured from anywhere in the

world to get data to the web based meter data acquisition server.

My Contribution: Orcad Schematic preparation, Assembling, Testing and Hardware Support.

DTMS (Distribution Transformer Management System)

An FRTU is the master control which is connected to a RMU unit and several DTU slaves through

RS-485 network. Each DTU monitors various temperatures and Oil level at the transformer. The

meter at the transformer is connected directly to the FRTU, for reading energy values. RMU is

connected to various I/Os and analog sensors as inputs and actuators andcircuit breakers through

relays for output control.

FRTU controls the entire setup at the Power substation and communicates with the central server.

FRTU is based on a 32 bit PIC, whereas RMU and DTU are based on the 16 bit controllers.

My Contribution: Orcad Schematic preparation, Assembling, Testing and Hardware Support.

Worked as a Technician from April 2007 to June 2010.
