• Smoothed and finished surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, and

curbs to specified textures, using hand tools or power tools such as floats, trowels

and screeds.

• Signaled concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.

• Moved discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.

• Spread concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.

• Leveled concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using hand-held

screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.

• Removed rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces with power grinder or

chisel and hammer and patched holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.

• Operated back-hoe to dig trenches to form building foundations.

Track Layer

• Installed and repaired railroad track on specified territory of railroad, using portable

grinder, spike puller, spike driver and tie adz to grind ends of rails, remove old

spikes, drive new spikes and cut ties to fit fishplates.

• Performed related maintenance, working as member of crew.

• Raised rail with hydraulic jack to facilitate removal of old tie and installation of new

tie.

• Drilled holes through rails, tie plates and fishplates for insertion of bolts and spike,

using power drill.

• Operated track-wrench machine to tighten and loosen bolts at joints that held ends

of rails together.

• Sprayed ties, fishplates and joints with oil to protect them from weather.

• Painted railroad signs, such as speed limits and gate-crossing warnings.

Casting

• Cleaned metal shavings, dirt, grease and lint from machines and auxiliary equipment

in industrial plant, using cleaning solutions, waste, rags, water hose, pumps, air

hose, brushes and scraping tools.

• Removed machine guards and accessories using hand tools.
