Significant Projects:
SR 200 Milling and Resurfacing, Alachua County, Florida
FDOT District Two design services for two separate Mill and Resurface (M&R)
projects totaling 7.2 miles of rural and urban roadway. One of the projects
included a bridge over the CSX Railroad that added many challenges to the
design that are not typically associated with M&R projects. In order to
provide proper pavement cross slope correction without milling into the
existing ARMI layer, special profiles were developed for the inside and
outside edges of pavement for the vertical curves approaching the bridge.
Gardenia Trails PD&E Study, Lake County, Florida
FDOT District Five Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to
determine the preferred alignment for the 11 mile trail through the City of
Fruitland Park and the Towne of Lady Lake for an FDOT District 5 LAP
project. The final alignment included access to parks, historic areas,
multiple schools, and an optional bridge over US 441. The final report
included preliminary plans and details for major roadway crossings. The
project included multiple public workshops, public meetings and meetings
with the Lake Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization.
