Engineering Technology.

Work experience

May 2010- Present - Lead Mechanical Design Engineer at Castle Creations in

Olathe, KS.

o Use Solidworks to design plastic and metal enclosures to house

small electronics manufactured for the RC hobby industry.

o Build prototypes and proof of concept models to discover

potential mechanical, manufacturing, or assembly problems that

may arise to ensure a smooth transition into manufacturing

o Manage mechanical design projects from concept to manufacturing,

including; development, design, tooling, and testing.

o Communicate directly with domestic and offshore manufacturers

for tooling of injection molded enclosures, thermoformed

tooling, aluminum extrusion tooling, aluminum die cast parts,

and machined metal parts/assemblies.

o Design and fabricate assembly and testing machines and fixtures

to assist in fast and methodical assembly of products.

o Machine design projects that consist of many electronics, moving

mechanical assemblies, and simple robotics.

o Work directly with manufacturing in the US as well as China to

ensure quality, and product delivery dates are met.

o Travel to China to assist in manufacturing and quality issues of

o Correspond directly with clients/customers to ensure that their

design needs/wants are met.

material selection and process selection.
