Design and develop a mixed economic & technical model to recognize the long-term trends of the stock market.
Propose timing algorithm for index-tracking ETFs such as QQQ, QLD, TNA, etc. (Both long and short positions)
Develop MATLAB software for the proposed timing algorithm.
Analyze risk using volatility and downside risk measures for the proposed model. Analyze risk-adjusted return
performance using Sharpe-Ratio, Modigliani Measure and Information Ratio.
Compare results (risk& return) with other timing strategies such as VectorVest and IBD market outlook, mutual
funds, and stock-screens given by AAII website.
