SUMMARY
I am a Biologist looking for opportunities. I have 8 years of hands-on lab
experience in molecular genetics, cell and tissue biology, protein array
analysis, nanofabrication, production, research and development,
microscopy, and quality inspection offering a broad background and
knowledge of different laboratory equipment methods and techniques
including working in BSL-1, -2, &-3 facilities.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
. NanoInk Inc: Lead Research Associate: Reported to Dr.
Harris Jamil, Roz Helfrich, and Frank Lantz ~October
1st 2010-Feb 15th 2013
Responsibilities: I served as a liaison between the R&D dept.
and the Production dept. overseeing the day to day management
and upkeep of the lab, chemicals and bio-printing machines. I
ran several different types of highly specialized personalized
ELISA's using customer samples and reporting findings at weekly
meetings (using Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point). I was
also responsible for pipetting(multi and single-channel, air and
positive displacement, volumetric, robot assisted, and micro
pipetting), GLP compliancy, centrifugation(micro and high-
speed), fluorescent microscopy, atomic force microscopy, assay
development using the patented Dip Pen Nanolithography
Technology, contact angle measurements, spectroscopy, antibody
selection and optimization, document writing, plasma/ozone
cleaning of microarray chips, SEM, optimizing the use and design
of the equipment for each assay, and I was responsible for many
other types of equipment, experiments, and protocols.
. Loyola University Chicago: Cardinal Bernardin Cancer
Center, Hematological malignancy program, Laboratory
Technician 1: Reported to Dr. Nancy Zeleznik-Le
~November 2008-June 2010
Responsibilities: We had studied the binding affinity of Mixed
Linkage Leukemia (MLL) binding partners HDAC1 and HPC2 using
PCR, pipetting (multi and single-channel), centrifugation(micro
and high-speed), restriction digests, cloning, gel
electrophoresis, gateway recombination cloning, T3 and SP6
transcription reactions, phenol extraction/precipitation
reactions, spectroscopy, western blot (radioactive and non-
radioactive), GST pull-down assay, phosporimaging, gene
modification software, radiation safety training, hazardous
materials handling training, tissue & cell cultures, viral
transfection, DNA purification from human bone marrow, general
laboratory management & maintenance, fluorescent microscopy.
. Loyola University Chicago, Biology Department Lab
Coordinators Assistant: student worker ~August 2007-May
2008
. Loyola University Chicago, enrollment operations:
