• Managed Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) maintenance work center
comprised of eleven military and one civilian performing on line equipment maintenance supporting
the entire $680 million, 171 site SACCS.
• Provided 24/7 organizational level maintenance on the primary alert network supporting United
States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) and JCS Nuclear Command, Control and Communication
(NC3) and Emergency Action Message delivery.
• Directed organizational and intermediate maintenance, preventive maintenance inspections,
equipment modifications and software configuration updates with local users, system programmers
and network operators
• Oversaw work center training program, resolved personnel/technical problems, and manages budget
to ensure maximum use of recourses.
• Troubleshot and repaired catastrophic Strategic Force Status Operations Center terminal outage,
restored nuclear launch order dissemination to 90 Air Force wing organizations, 20 launch control
facilities and 150 missile silos
• Orchestrated SACCS long haul dial up circuit expansion project by installing 26 additional lines
providing 33 Air National Guard refueling units with alternate Command Control communication
paths reducing circuit restoration time from 2 hours to 15 minutes.
• Led two technicians isolated and replaced erratic processor memory card versus entire unit saving
$30K replacement cost.
• Restored operator control to Global Operations Center network by troubleshooting and repairing
teletype outage.
• Teamed with ITT engineers to adapt SACCS and digital encryption prototype.
• Directed depot level repair of five magazine diskette units salvaging $46K in assets replenishing
depleted stock
• Installed two dedicated lines for European sites enabled “first ever” SACCS overseas direct connect .
