PERSONAL DETAILS:
Date of Birth: 29.11.1985 Marital status: Single Nationality: India
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
MBBS- Government Medical College, Akola, Maharashtra, (Completed
2009).
MD (Anatomy) - Dept. of Anatomy, All India Institute of Medical Sciences,
New Delhi. (Completed, December 2013).
RESEARCH UNDERTAKEN_:
Title of the Thesis completed during MD (Anatomy):
“AN IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL STUDY OF DORSAL ROOT GANGLIA OF
RAT FOLLOWING PLANTAR INCISIO”
Summary of thesis work:
1) Dorsal root ganglia constitute the main pathway for the transmission of
sensory stimuli from the periphery to the central nervous system.
2) Neuron in the dorsal root ganglia were categorized into small, medium
and large varieties by measurement of diameters and immunostaining
with peripherin.
3) Increased Glial fibrillary acidic protein expression in satellite glial
cells was observed postoperative during pain.
1
4) Connexin-43, marker of Gap junctions between neurons and satellite
glial cells showed an increase during postoperative pain.
5) This study concludes that increased activation of satellite glial cells by
transmission of excitability to other connected cells through the
increased number of gap junctions could play an important role in
postoperative pain.
