manager on many other projects including overlays, paving patch, retaining walls, sidewalks
and bike trails. Supervise as many as seven construction inspectors. Apply for and secure
Fed aid for City projects. Conduct audits and closeouts for both Fed aid and non participating
projects. Work with I.D.O.T. to receive Fed reimbursement. Serve as public relations person
for the division. Serve and satisfy property owners and contractors. Give construction
updates at the Mayor’s and City Manager’s press meetings. Participate in CIP meetings.
Write RCA’s (request for council action) for change orders and closeouts. Strong computer

Job Responsibilities: Purchased six acre tract of undeveloped land, and developed it into a 21
lot subdivision which included $60,000 of sewer and water improvements. Paved a $60,000
six hundred foot cul de sac. Construct and sell both spec and custom homes. Employed as
many as four full time employees, and have generated as much as $500,000 in revenue per
year. Provide excellent customer service.
Transportation Engineer Associate – 1988 to 1999

Job Responsibilities: Project manager on $1.8 million bridge replacement and mainline paving
project, $1.3 million widening and overlay project, $1.7 and $1.4 million ACC resurfacing
projects. Conducted audits on State and FHWA projects. Worked with FHWA Corps of
Engineers and FEMA on flood damaged areas. Processed agreements and resolutions with
county and city governments. Reviewed construction claim vouchers on secondary and urban
projects. Attended bid lettings and preconstruction meetings with city and counties. Reviewed
preliminary plans for city and county projects to ensure bidability. Served as interim Resident
Construction Engineer, Resident Maintenance Engineer and Local Systems Engineer.
