Accomplishments:
Release Facilitation and Issue Resolution: As a Gatekeeper for the Verizon
Enterprise Portal:
. Key player in support of monthly iterative releases, as well as quarterly
releases. Assisted the business in determining what functionality was
required right away and what could be pushed to another release. Managed
business expectations regarding what was feasible and what was not,
recommending workarounds for processes that could not be supported
immediately by IT. Kept upper management closely apprised of progress,
issues and status; escalated issues to the VP level if required.
. Reviewed business and functional requirements documents for completeness.
Advised the business community when their requests did not have the level
of detail required for development. Responsible for getting these
documents up to standards, either by rewriting them myself or coaching
the authors on what information was still required,
. Participated in meeting the monthly releases, which were essentially
three week sprints. Decomposed bulky requirements documents into
developer user stories-driven tasks and assigned them to appropriate IT
staff. Monitored progress throughout the release. Worked very closely
with QA to ensure that these release dates were met and the code
satisfied the requirement.
Telecom Billing Systems: As part of responsibilities on the Verizon
Enterprise Portal, was extensively involved with the 12 billing feeds
supported by the VEC Portal. The area of responsibility was twofold:
ensuring data compliance with incoming orders to applicable billing systems
via the iOrder module of OrderPro, and the FCC-mandated construction of the
Database of Record for all billing systems enterprise-wide. See page 3 of
resume under Verizon for more information. Also refer to page 5 of resume
for experience on Worldcom's TCOMS provisioning/billing system.
Portals, Dashboards and Metrics:
. Extensive experience in enterprise portals, both for customer use and
tracking metrics for the executive level. Created screen mockups to
assist stakeholders in understanding what they were requesting, and made
suggestions to cover functional gaps or enhance the user experience.
. Reported extensively on business metrics: volume, trends, bottlenecks,
potential issues and concerns. Advised management on what was working and
what needed improvement.
. identity and access management technologies and active directory
. Access Management: Experienced in provisioning, and de-provisioning of
users and defining a role based access control model. In conjunction with
Portal access, extensive experience in defining and managing the single
sign on experience; i.e. users are permitted or denied access to various
features and functions by predetermined assignment to an existing role or
group. If a new role or group is required, experienced in investigating
the impact such an addition would have to the Policy Server and making
recommendations. Also familiar with the Oracle AIM security suite. See
pages 4 and 5 for further information.
User Experience: An application is only successful if the end user
determines that it helps them do their job more efficiently and
effectively. Leveraging my marketing background and user experience
background, act as an advocate for the user to ensure that product delivery
exceeds their expectations regarding functionality and ease of use. A new
application should be considered an exciting new asset, not a burden to be
endured.
