Director of Security and Safety was hired to rebuild the security and safety department after severe hurricane damage. The entire security infrastructure including the guardhouse was destroyed. I Improved and rebuilt the security program which today is a model for other security departments. Part of our modernization was to install new and updated camera surveillance systems. A community-wide alarm system was also set up using an outside vendor/central station. I wrote a Rules and Regulations manual for the security staff that outlined the best security practices. I also published a hurricane mitigation manual for employees and residents of my community. I started a safety committee made up of department heads to implement best safety practices. I authored the Sailfish Point Medical Protocols manual for the security staff to improve our medical response procedures. I worked with Martin County Fire Rescue to improve our in-house medical responders training. I also worked with the Sailfish Point insurance carrier to reduce our liability; and, as a result our insurance rates were lowered. I wrote the Sailfish Point Business Continuity plan which includes all department heads as well as various community committees. This plan incorporates the best disaster mitigation practices, emergency response and risk management. The goal of this plan is to keep our business and community operational in the event of a disaster such as a hurricane or some man-made disaster. My final project was to implement a golf cart license/safety program for teenage residents.
