Transferred to Brazil as Associate Manufacturing Director for the Propylene Oxide
& Propylene Glycol plants of Dow Chemical in Aratu, Bahia. Plant performance as
well as cost management, people leadership, and EH&S were the key
responsibilities of my role which also required high business interaction so as to
assure that the Chlorine–Propylene envelope kept integrated and optimized.
Production Leader

Appointed as Production Leader for Polyethylene Slurry (HDPE) and Gas Phase
(LLDPE) plants in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. Main responsibilities were very similar
to those indicated immediately above but adding some complexity in the production

the Polyols and Glycol Ethers plants as well as Operations Director for the Site.

Supply Manager for Labor & Services procurement and had a second role of
Supplier Relationship Manager with responsibility all over Latin America. This job
helped me to understand better many Commercial aspects (Agreements;
Contracts, Supply Strategies; Supplier Customer relations) that greatly contributed
to improve my knowledge of the new business environment.
Plant Superintendent
July’93 December’98
Promoted to Plant Superintendent for the Ag Chemicals Formulation and
Packaging facility of Dow also in San Lorenzo, Argentina. This plant, which works
for the Dow AgroSciences business in the Southern Cone, used to produce about
8.3 MM liters of different formulations based on Picloram, Haloxyfop and
Chlorpyrifos active ingredients mainly. In addition, the job included production
responsibility in third party manufacturers as well as the operation of the Site
incinerator for solid and liquid wastes.
From February 1997 and under the role of Operations Leader, responsibilities on
Planning, Purchasing, Distribution and Customer Service in the southern cone
were added to my primary role.
This job demanded high interpersonal skills to manage the Operations team (about
40 people) plus the different functions involved in Supply Chain as well as a strong
market focus. The Ag market is a very competitive one, with variables like climate
and plagues that required flexibility and quick responses from the entire Operations
team.
Assistant Superintendent – San Lorenzo
March’92 June’93
Transferred to the Polyols plant in San Lorenzo as Assistant Superintendent. This
facility includes several operating units like Flexible Polyols, Polyglycols,
Demulsifiers, Rigid polyols, Glycol Ethers, TDI/MDI prepolymers, EO/PO splitter,
and the Utilities for the whole Site: Boilers, Cogeneration Unit, Compressed air and
Nitrogen supply. This job also gave me the opportunity of interacting with people at
all levels and to enter again in contact with the Business/Commercial teams.
Environmental, Health & Safety Manager – San Lorenzo Site
October’89 – February’92

During this period I performed as EH&S (Environmental, Health & Safety) Manager
for the San Lorenzo Site of Dow, with the main goal of supporting EH&S programs
and coordinating the efforts for improving the EH&S Site performance. This job

I was transferred to the San Lorenzo Site of Dow Chemical in order to work as Project

recovery system; Stripper enlargement; Vacuum system for stripping process; Acrylic acid
storage; Butadiene direct feed; Drumming and bulk loading stations; TDI/MDI Pre polymers

Started working at Dow Chemical, Argentina, as Development Engineer for the
Urethanes business with specific responsibilities in flexible and molded polyols
technology.
This job included the technical service and support for Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia,

Worked as Project engineer being responsible for plant projects coordination,
