This is to refresh the skills and knowledge after a very long period of service.
As a Phlebotomist I performed venepuncture on patients in a medical environment.
My duty is to focus on patients to ensures that I calm their nervousness down in form
Of interacting with them. The form they brought will be collected and their
names and date of birth will be established. Then venepuncture will be performed on
patients by identified a suitable vein to puncture the needle and swab the area of the
vein with antiseptic while a disposable gloves must be worn and insert the needle into
vein to draw blood into collection tube. Once the blood is poured into a tube then you
need to release your tourniquet and remove the needle from patients vein and apply
cotton wool into the area of the vein to stop the blood coming out. Once the blood
sample has been obtained then you need to documents and properly labelled the tube
so that it can be sent to the laboratory for testing.

The main duty was to help candidates to search for their job of choice. I advertised the
position to job centre because our clients are Local Authority. The Local Authority
will like our company to fill the position for them as temporary assignment.
Candidates will forward their CV to us and we look at their CV that matched the
criteria of Local Authority and if it does, then we forward the candidates details for
verification and once they are certified then the candidates will take up the
assignment. I prepared the candidates payroll.

My main duty as a sterile technician is to clean and sterile surgical instruments used in
operation theatre. The cleaning of the instruments requires disassembly so that it can
be cleaned properly while reassembly it can be packed properly. The surgical
instruments after washed in the machine and packed in tray, it will take into Autoclave
machine so that it can be programme to the standard the surgical instruments designed
to be sterilised then after it has completed the cycle, the Autoclave machine will
switched off automatically and it can be taken out of machine and place it to the cool
place before it can be taken to theatre for another operation use. All the surgical
instruments that sterilised has an expired date it can be used.

I worked as a phlebotomist in a medical environment. I focused on patients to see that
they are not nervous. I engaged on patients in form of interacting to see they are in
good conditions. Their name and date of birth must be asked to see it matched the
form collected from the patients. The necessary equipment that must be in place in
other to performed venepuncture properly. The necessary equipment’s that must be
in place are disposable vacutainer holder, 21G needle with safety guard attached,
Tourniquet, swab and cotton wool. All this must be in place .

As a phlebotomist I performed a venepuncture on patients in a conducive medical
environment. My focus is on patients to see they are in good conditions. To interact with them
and let them know what exactly am about to do. I asked for their form and established their
name and date of birth. Organised necessary phlebotomy equipment on the table and carry out
the assignment after finished then the vacutainer tube will be sent to laboratory for
examination and result take one week to arrived in clinic.

me as successfully completed the course in venepuncture .

As a Theatre technician I assure that all surgical instruments used in theatre room must be
washed by standard machine that designed to do so. After the machine has finished its cycle
then transferred it to the machine that will dry the surgical instruments that was just washed.
The dry machine must be set to temperature that will dry the surgical instruments before it
can be transfer to a clean area where the instruments can be set and pack .
This instruments that Packed must be sterilized in a standard Autoclave and after the cycle
completed in Autoclave machine, the instruments will be placed in a cool area where it can be
checked that it was okay to be transferred to Theatre room for another operation. In situation
where will found instruments damaged in the dirty set we replace them and the damaged one
will be washed and send to quarantine room. There are necessary equipment dirty instruments
are wash.

My main job is to supervise 20 cleaners. To ensure that all the cleaners are in the premises at
the right time. I must ensure that necessary cleaning chemical are used and the premises are
cleaned accordingly. I prepared cleaners time sheet and make sure it was submitted in time. I
carried out spot check to ensures that the cleaners are doing the right thing.
