TX Volunteered at NTS Therapy and working closely with a licensed
Occupational Therapist. Assisted in formulating activities of daily living
related to the therapies. The children range from 4 - 13 years old. The
therapies range from activities with children with autism and/ or children
with minor to severe disabilities.
Habitat for Humanity San
Antonio,TX
Assisted in the completion of a few homes by cleaning, painting walls,
assembling a chain fence with the help of others. Made certain that the
finishing touches on the house were complete and the house was ready for
the families to move in.
Border Hand Rehabilitative Therapy
McAllen, TX
Volunteer at a licensed Occupational Therapist's office and assisted in his
daily activities with his patients. Interacted with the patients and learn
more about the disabilities they faced. Brainstormed with the therapist on
how the patient could benefit from further therapies and exercises.
HESTEC at The University of Texas Pan American
Edinburg, TX
In correlation with UTPA, served as a volunteer on campus and brought
awareness to the community and to the student body about persons with
disabilities and how to further help them around campus. As an organization
we were able to advocate for people with disabilities and raise awareness
of the ongoing drinking and driving epidemic.
Mujeres Unidas (Women Together)
McAllen,TX
Volunteered at this battered women's shelter and was able to raise and
individually wrap new/ used toys for the children of Mujeres Unidas around
Christmas time. We collected books toys and even gently used items for the
women who turn to Mujeres Unidas for help and safety.
