My name is Dusty Martin and am interested in a position with your

organization.

I'm including my resume for your consideration. I've been freelancing for

the past year but now since relocating to Columbia, I want to find a long

term employment situation. Right now I am doing contract work that is

temporary, so I would like to find a permanent position.

I feel that my enthusiasm and my attitude coupled with my past experience

would make me a valuable asset and always the energetic employee. I am

artistic, flexible, deadline-oriented and have excellent customer service

skills. I have 15+ years prepress experience, and have worked in print

shops, service bureaus and publishing houses. Although I have very strong

design and prepress skills, my strongest skillset is troubleshooting and

problem solving. I also have experience in building, servicing,

troubleshooting, and networking of Macs, but have an passion for all

technology and computers.

In addition to my design and prepress production skills, I am a

professional writer and photographer. I've done work for newspapers,

magazines and online. I actively keep my skills current on all the latest

software, and relish new situations and challenges. I have a special

passion for Macintosh, but it doesn't keep me from working with other

platforms, including Windows.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

. Trained and experienced with Macintosh, PC and some Unix. Experienced

in building, servicing, troubleshooting and networking Macintosh

computers. Extensive experience with print and digital video and

photography, both studio and in the field. Experienced in high end motion

graphics and video editing.

. 18+ years experienced in high end prepress production and printing

(including flexographic, large format and vinyl graphics). Software

expertise includes all Adobe software, Final Cut Pro Studio, QuarkXpress,

all Corel software, Trapwise and Trapeze, Microsoft Office Suite, Fusion

Pro and Smart Board.

. Programmed and administered Filemaker databases; experienced in front

end web design, with some basic backend coding knowledge (including html,

javascripting, CSS, php) and basic Flash skills. Also, experienced in

programming and handling variable data software and workflows

. Managed staff, vendors, schedules and workflows (payroll,

Art Director - Responsibilities included creative direction and design,

barcode management, marketing work, brand management, and prepress for a

food manufacturing corporation. Also, handle light IT management and duties

(email, FTP and network, computer and phone setups, etc).

JHM, INC. - Greenville, South Carolina - January 2011 to May 2011

Graphic Designer Manager - Responsibilities included marketing work, brand

manage, graphic design and prepress for a hotel management company. Sourced

and managed outside vendors and contractors, and managed advertising

schedule. Relocated to Columbia.

ALPHA MAILING SERVICE - Shelby, North Carolina - September 2008 to December

2009

Graphic Designer - Responsibilities included graphic design, variable data

setup, prepress production work, customer service and technical support for

clients, for a full service mailing house and print facility. Also, did

large format graphics, database management, consultation and computer

maintenance. Company downsized and was laid off.

VIEGA NORTH AMERICA - Wichita, Kansas - July 2006 to May 2008

Graphic Designer - Responsibilities included marketing work, writing,

graphic design and prepress production work on in-house, technical and

advertising literature, catalogs, manuals and sales collateral for an

international manufacturing company. Also created video, multimedia and

motion graphics, and did extensive trade show work. Sourced and managed

outside vendors and contractors, researched and advised on purchases and

performed design, support and technical services for other departments and

outside sales. Left to relocate to North Carolina.

STREAMTRAX VISUAL SOLUTIONS - Wichita, Kansas - April 2005 to March 2006

Creative Director - Responsibilities included video creation, motion

graphics/print graphic design, writing, and principle photography, for a

interactive marketing/advertising firm. Also worked prepress production,

web design, as well as corporate branding identity and literature. Company

closed in 2006.

Company downsized (2003) and eventually closed in 2005.

programming, quality control, and coordination of databases, products and

services (client, scripts, markets, etc.) for marketing services department

of a large telecommunications firm. Company closed and relocated to Florida

in 1997.
