Job) May 2013 - Sept 2013

Haworth Seating Engineering - Project

Engineer/Cost Reduction Team.

. Utilized engineering principles and experience to work on

team as well as individually assigned projects, designed and

developed new products, improved existing products, processes

and tooling.

. Worked to reach my personal cost reduction goal of $350,000

per year, having already reached one-third ($147,000) of that

in only one sales quarter.

. Calculated and evaluated alternative product designs,

tooling, manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure

least possible production costs.

. Developed prototypes to be utilized in engineering

performance and reliability testing.

. Coordinated and prepared tests and plans and monitored the

testing and analysis of materials, processes and prototypes.

. Used statistical techniques, tolerance analysis and geometric

dimensioning to assure the products met customer

requirements.

. Worked with quality assurance, manufacturing, marketing,

suppliers, customers and various other departments.

. Communicated with and travelled to customer and supplier

sites, VA/VE events, agencies, universities and related

manufacturing operations to review progress, designs, form,

fit and function of the products.

. Assisted with the assembly and installation of tooling and

equipment using power and hand tools.

Experience Bikson's Engineering, Pune, India.

Aug 2007 - April 2008

Cont'd: Mechanical Engineering Intern - Project Leader

. Led a team of interns, in the successful design,

manufacturing of a 30TPH baggase powered boiler for a sugar

mill under the supervision of the Chief Executive Technical.

. Provided calculations and collected project related data

pertaining to its research and development.

. Considered all design, manufacturing principles and heat

transfer fundamentals to achieve the maximum heat transfer

and efficiency without compromising the boiler's cost

effectiveness.

. Collaborated with global teams to develop an extensive

knowledge of medium to high-pressure boilers and their

components for having a full understanding of the project and

its goals.

. Supervised installations, operations, maintenance, and

repairs to ensure that machines and equipment were installed

and functioning according to specifications.

. Utilized alternative principles rather than published

guidelines to provide valuable input, which were ultimately

integrated into the project's final design.

Projects: Increased Reliability/Longevity of an Inkjet Printer, SIT,

Hoboken, NJ. Dec 2012

. Calculated and increased the over-all reliability and

dependability of an inkjet printer based on mean time between

failure, failure rate and other factors like load, stress,

temperature, vibration etc by over 20% by locating and

analyzing the criticality and necessity of the weakest

mechanical components and integrating them with more

reliable/parallel electrical components.

Liquid Cooled Central Processing Unit, SIT, Hoboken, NJ.

July 2012

. Conducted Air Cooled analysis of CPU using fan and heat sink

model and compared the result with liquid cooled analysis by

calculating pressure drop, channel velocity, total fin

thermal resistance, total number of fins and sizing of heat

sink.

Manufacturing Processes, SIT, Hoboken, NJ.

May 2012

. Designed, modified and studied the plant layout using

simulation to minimize the effect of the most sensitive

parameters such as processing times, handling of products,

process controls and other variations, which lead to

significant bottleneck issues. Defined the product, its

manufacturing process, steps, methods, cost model of

materials, labor, production cost, as well as manufacturing

parameter.
