(PG) Adabas Natural and COBOL applications. Most of my work involves making enhancements, creating data extracts
and interfaces to external systems. I rotate weekly 24/7 production support of all UCSD IBM applications.

Project Leader over the Unemployment Insurance (UI) application section, a very large, complex, and COBOL system.
The DB2 and IDMS databases contain over one billion rows. I was the lead over a five member team that provided oncall
production support for multiple applications. EDD is a very large and structured environment. All projects followed a
basic system life cycle. I prepared documentation containing a problem statement, customer requirements, proposed
solution, programming changes, test plans, and unit test results. I worked with the system test group, conducted
interviews with customers, and attended a daily production meeting with other IT support units and customers.
California State Lottery, Senior Programmer Analyst, 4/2005 to 7/2010
Project Leader over a small team of developers who supported the California Lottery's Retailer Website System (RWS),
and another small team that supported our intranet site using Microsoft’s SharePoint 2007 software. I was assigned to a
procurement team as the technical lead to evaluate and hire a vender to develop a new California Lottery Business
Intelligence (BI) application using Microsoft technologies. I was primary support for three Adabas Natural applications.
California State Lottery, Adabas Consultant, 4/2003 to 4/2005
I was hired as a consultant to maintain the Sales Information, W2G and 1099 Tax, Winners, Claim and Payment, and
Annuity Investment systems while the existing staff went through a two year retraining program.
Department of Social Services, Adabas Consultant, 5/2001 to 4/2003
Supported the Licensing Information System (LIS). Deliverables included design and approval documentation (i.e.
requirements, design changes, test plans). Conducted walkthroughs and customer acceptance demonstrations. Converted
approximately 70 Natural programs, cleansed external data, attended design and status meetings, and supported daily
production problems. Team assigned to develop an applicant information subsystem for LIS using M111S VB, MS SQL
Server, and used EntireX/Broker (EXB) to define IBM as the server and Adabas as the database. Tasks included Predict,
Natural Service Programs (EXB data access), EXB TOR link control files, and testing.

They hired me to support the Accounting and Inventory systems. This involved interviewing customers, gathering
requirements, designing a solution, programming, testing and implementing.
