Heating Engineer

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am interested in the position of Gas Engineer.

I am currently working for a small plumbing and heating company

t hat has contracts with local housing providers. The position involves

a ll types of domestic gas work including installation, repairs and

servicing and some plumbing

P rior to this I worked with my father who is a self-employed heating

engineer and carried out a range of jobs including installation,

maintenance and repairs similar to what I do now. I believe I would

benefit from working for a large company which could give me

experience of a greater variety of work.

Although on paper I have only been an engineer for the last 3 years I

have worked with my father on and off since I was 16 and have

benefitted greatly from his 40 years of experience in the gas industry.

I have a very technical brain and take pride in being able to diagnose a

fault and then make a repair. I find the knowledge I gained on my

E lectronics AS course has been useful when dealing with boiler

electrical faults. I have some experience of working on oil and LPG

boilers having repaired and serviced several of these while working

w ith my father.

Having worked in a very busy workshop at Warrington Volkswagen I

have been used to working both independently and as part of a team. I

t ry to work in a methodical and organised way and take care of my

appearance and that of my vehicle as I believe this gives a positive

i mpression of the business.

I would be available to start work with two weeks notice.
