OBJECTIVE
Obtain a responsible and challenging position with a company that will
allow me to utilize my previous experiences leading groups of people and
working on projects as well as learn new technologies and skills to
improve beyond my abilities currently so that I may grow professionally,
while earning a good reputation amongst my peers and business partners.
EXPERIENCE
Arkansas Labeling - Currently Lead Pressman/IT/Technical Service -
previously Operations Manager and Project Manager
Bryant, AR - 2001 until Present
Due to restructuring and the purchase of new equipment they needed me to
operate, I stepped away from Operations Manager position last year
voluntarily.
Accomplishments
. Took over Operations when business was struggling and owner was going
overseas for an extended stay. Rearranged workforce hours and instituted
some procedures to improve efficiency and quality, during an extended
slow period, to enable everyone to retain their jobs so we could avoid
having to spend more on retraining personnel as we would if we had a
layoff. The procedures I put into effect also contributed to increased
efficiency so when work load returned to normal we were able to get more
production from the same resources in all departments using less time and
having less waste.
. Attended multiple trade shows in addition to traveling to other companies
to network and discuss other types of presses and equipment to help
gather information prior to helping make purchasing decisions. Also
helped gather information on other operations to see if there were any I
could use to help make ours more efficient or productive.
. Was instrumental in decisions regarding purchasing new equipment to help
modernize production, art department, and company computer systems.
. Helped with the changeover from analog plate systems to digital and
trained others on the process as well as doing a video and testimonial
video for the company when they installed it in 2006.
. Train others on color matching, press techniques for greater efficiency,
and production
. Took control of an in-plant facility for one of our customers, we
contracted to run, and turned it around from a 6 day 3 shift operation to
a 5 day 1 shift operation and ran it very profitably for our company
. During that time, I was also instrumental in helping the company choose
an offset platform to run 4c sheetfed work on, as well as a DTP RiP
system for the plates. Then I was trained on all the equipment and later
trained others. I also work with the graphics department on artwork to
help make it press friendly versus some of the web friendly artwork we
get.
. Took charge of the IT department in 2006 and reworked the system with a
combination of Macs and PCs so it would work better together and not have
frequent server crashes so that our company did not require having one
person dedicated solely to the IT systems
. Trained others on proper use of the companies Information Systems to keep
better track of time spent on jobs using LabelTraxx as well as setting
backup procedures and Internet Usage policy
. Operated efficiently and productively the following pieces of equipment
as well as being the main company trainer on our equipment: Nilpeter
2500B servo press, 16" Comco Commander, 10 and 7" Comco Captains,
ArpecoRewinders, ABDick 4995A 4c sheetfed offset press. DTP Offset RiP
and FlexoRiP DTP system using Esko software and thermal plate imaging
technology.
. Updated, maintained, and directed purchases for company's computer
systems.
. Purchasing from vendors for ink, paper, parts and other supplies.
. Tech support over phone for customers or on site when needed with regards
to our label products or thermal printer systems and labeling software as
well as doing thermal printer repairs for our customers on a contract
support basis.
