Final Year Project Details

Title : “Multipurpose Portable Hacksaw, Cutting, Grinding and Drilling machine”.

Team Size : 4

Duration : 8 Months

As a part of Final Year Project work, we propose to design and fabricate a Portable

Hacksaw, Grinding, Cutting and Drilling Machine in a common Portable Hand drilling Machine. The

equipment is a portable power driven reciprocating saw, grinding and cutting with a drilling attachment

for wood cutting operations which can also be used for cutting thinner cross sections of ductile

materials like Al etc.

To carry out machining operations more efficiently and conveniently, a Portable Multiple

Purpose Cutting Machine has been fabricated. The combination of four main cutting operations such

as drilling, reciprocating saw, rotary cutter and grinding are achieved. The machine can be operated

by semi skilled labor and also helps to reduce the manufacturing cost. The main advantage of this

machine is that it combines various cutting operations leading to reduction in manufacturing time and

effort. Due to flexibility in replacing the cutting tools according to the requirement, this machine is of

utmost use and application in the manufacturing industry.
