Duties: Receives specimens and verifies appropriate patient identification. Clarifies information
with clients, path assistants or pathologist as needed. Accessions patient surgical and thin prep pap
specimens and records all required information and histology data accurately. Conduct previous history
correlation. Labels specimens container, tissue cassettes and additional specimen containers following
dissection for special studies. Maintains knowledge base in the Laboratory Information System
(PowerPath). Performs QA by double checking data entry on all requisitions. Perform all Add-on testing
and validity requests processes. Handling and packaging of samples for send out testing based transport
by air, ground, Fedex with following appropriate safety and guidelines of shipping procedures.
Responsible for all the Send out testing specimen and follow up the results. Act as the liaison between
pathology group and the Lab, assist Pathologist with Diff Quick staining slides and cutting frozen section
tissue specimen. Responsible with all the outside Lab report to get imported into the case.

various tasks of the department to provide for maximum production. Call unscheduled personnel early to
