Professional Training:
In-plant Training in“PWD office-chepauk”for eight days & “water treatment
plant-kilpauk”for three days in Chennai.
Went for an Industrial Visit to“highway research board, harbour and SRM
university-waste water treatment plant” in Chennai.
Project Details:
Main project : Laboratory study on removal of Congo red dye using bio-waste material as
adsorbent.
Aim:To develop a low cost adsorbent from Agro-waste products and to study the
removal of dye.
Summary: Activated carbon from various Agro-waste materials like tamarind
seeds, mosambi peels & corn cobs were prepared and studied the characteristics.
Liquid phase batch operations were carried out to observe and compare the effect
of various factors such as contact time, dye concentration, adsorbent dose on
removal of dye with commercially activated carbon and developed adsorbents.
The result found that the efficiency of removal was greater at higher adsorbent
dosage and the contact time is 3 hrs. However cant lead commercial activated
carbon.
Team size: 4 Members.
Mini project : Analysis and Design of multilevel parking system.
Aim: To design a multi-level parking building to accommodate the vehicles for
the betterment of their customers.
Summary: Analysis and design a G+1 multi-level parking building with one
basement floor and ground floor is meant for car parking and the rest of first
floor is to accommodate two wheelers as per IS 456-2000,SP 16 and SP 34. For
analysis purpose MS-EXCEL 2010 and STAADpro v8i were used and the
drawings are drawn through AutoCADD2010. All the calculations are carried out
using software and hand checked.
