. IDB:
The Investments Database application (IDB) is a decision making tool used
by the Investment banking department at Guardian Life. This application
is critical and time sensitive and the Investments department relies on
it for their daily trade decisions, executions and allocations. This
application is written in .NET 4.0 (MVP pattern) with WCF and uses SQL
Server 2008 as the database. The application contains Fixed Income,
Equity, Real Estate, Performance Analytics, Derivatives, Risk Management
and Research modules.
The IDB nightly load process fetches data from CAMRA accounting system.
The IDB system uploads ratings, analytics and prices for securities held
to IDC, Muller and Bloomberg accounting systems. The data is downloaded
from vendors and provided to traders for their daily trading initiatives.
