Research Assistant, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX Jan 2012 - September2013
Involved in ongoing research on Border and Transportation Security, analyzed the potential vulnerabilities in
authentication protocols, formulated methods to detect such weaknesses, and developed techniques to defend
against the exploitation of those weaknesses that might still escape careful design and thorough analysis.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
Intrusion Detection System Spring 2013
Developed a program to recognize port scanning on a specific host by analyzing the host’s trace file and the TCP
dump file. Extended the program, further to recognize a port scan in real time and captured the packets associated
with the scan. Conducted a performance analysis to determine points of failure and the maximum traffic the
network could withstand.
Input validation and security analysis for telephone numbers Spring 2013
Developed an algorithm to perform name and phone number validation based on specific requirements.
WEP key cracking Spring 2013
Changed the setting of wireless LAN to WEP enabled and used password cracking tools to obtain the WEP key.
Loan Arranger Tool Spring 2013
Designed a loan arranger tool to help the analyst of a loan organization handle loan transactions.
Implementation of Cocktail Watermarking in Blackfin Processor Spring 2011
Developed a technique using cocktail watermarking to transmit a secret message inside the pixels of an image in
military services. It has major applications such as copyright protection, source tracing, broadcast monitoring,
watermarking in healthcare and authentication.
Digital Date of Birth Teller Spring 2009
Developed an application to fetch date of birth of a person using S/R flip-flops and relay logic circuitry named
“Digital Date of Birth Teller”.
