Work Experience:

Master Electrician - St. Paul Pioneer Press

**/**** ** ******t

I hold the Master's License and supervise the electrical maintenance work

for the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper. We have 20 individual press units

that can be combined together in various configurations to supply up to 3

different folding machines, which are connected to 3 different conveyor

systems that connect to all of our buffer equipment. From there the papers

can go to any one of the 3 separate lines of insert machines, and on into

several counters, stackers, and strapping machines that get them to the

loading dock. This process also includes the several conveyor systems that

move rolls of paper from the warehouse to the sorting lanes and off to each

press unit as they are called for. And of course there is the platemaking

part of the process, the ink delivery system, the various air pressure and

vacuum systems, the water purification system and the dust collection

systems that tie into each press drive unit. I make sure that each part of

this complicated system works together since we cannot wait till tomorrow

to get it fixed.

different types of customer owned equipment such as CNC machines for

example. This involves directing communication between the Job

Superintendent, the Architect, and the Owner to insure the job is about to

be done correctly. And then determining manpower requirements, materials,

tools and equipment necessary to insure the project is completed safely,

complies with all codes both local and national, and is on time, and on

budget.
