PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mechanical Engineer (Contractor)
U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Aberdeen, MD (2005 - present)
Prepared and executed performance assessment tests on multiple vehicle systems and their components, producing
timely test results and reports. Developed testing criteria requirements and utilized analytical methods and
engineering tools (e.g. finite element modeling, AutoCAD, MATLAB, Excel, etc) to provide analyses on various
mechanical system components.
• Developed testing methods and procedures to confirm system and product capabilities.
• Supervised vehicle systems performance testing activities which included development of simulation
models, structural and stress analysis, data acquisition; and documentation of test procedures.
• Diagnosed root cause analysis for components failure, which resulted in significant improvement of
modeling capabilities in terms of more accurate failure prediction.
• Utilized Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) on range of vehicle components and subassemblies to
identified manufacturing quality-related deficiencies and ensure parts are meeting all specific criteria.
• Wrote technical reports that detailed the results of performance testing and summarized findings that
resulted in improving manufacturing processes for multiple system components.
• Prepared periodic project assessments and presentations for management review.
Project Engineer
Kiewit Construction Company, Denver, CO (2002 – 2005)
Coordinated the installation and commissioning for communication systems signal amplifier facilities. Served as
company liaison coordinating activities that included scheduling, cost estimation; and resolving engineering and
construction problems.
• Coordinated work activities with various area offices to ensure project work was completed on time, in
accordance with the project schedule and associated technical requirements.
• Optimized scheduling priorities by developing tracking system that monitored work activities to ensure
successful and timely completion of project schedule.
• Developed Request for Information (RFI) process to track action items to closure.
Mechanical Test Engineer
Gates Rubber Company, Denver, CO (1998 – 2002)
Led product test activities which focused on system performance testing for durability level of automotive belts.
Responsibilities also included installation and configuration of new test equipment using a wide variety of power and
hand tools.
• Diagnosed faults and performed failure analysis on the automotive belts and the test equipment.
• Conducted preventive maintenance and calibrations of mechanical test equipment.
• Collaborated in failure investigations and recommended corrective actions by reviewing all available data,
system modeling, testing, and consulting with SME’s.
EDUCATION
• Master of Science degree, Mechanical Engineering, University of Colorado 2001
Thesis - “Conservation of Momentum and Crush Energy in Vehicle Accident Reconstruction”.
• Bachelor of Science degree, Mechanical Engineering, Minor in Mathematics, University of Colorado 1997.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification, PE certification-in process.
