This is a project which aimed to make Motorola's iDEN (integrated Dispatch

Enhanced Network) Dispatch call from anywhere over the internet from

Facebook, a widely used social networking application without the

installation of any application. An iDEN subscriber who can access

internet/Facebook can use the username and password as in DM server and

initiate the dispatch call.

#2. Provisioning New Feature Implementation for iDEN Network

Duration : Module owner (3 years)

In this project I was involved in the development of a new module for

the existing product of Motorola iDEN (integrated Dispatch Enhanced

Network) Network. The implementation was done to the network element iHLR

(iDEN Home Location Register), provisioning protocol as well as the

database in java. JDBC APIs are used for connecting to the Informix

database of iHLR and new methods to handle the DB objects are added.

Provisioning protocol is the interface used by external clients and

the iHLR itself to provide access to the database.

The responsibility included maintenance of the module with all the

releases, handling field issues as well as internal testing defects and

fixes for the same.

#3. CTHA Tool

Description

CTHA (Componentized Test Harness Architecture) is an internal tool

used for testing different network elements of Motorola iDEN network with

exchange of messages. The development is made to support the tool with new

module (adding new network element and structural changes in the network

exchange messages) implementation in java.

Message structures are written in xml format. Parsing, marshaling,

unmarshaling the xml data are done using jaxb parser. Bit manipulation

functions are used for validating the message elements.

The responsibility included maintenance of the tool with all the

releases, handling internal enhancement and defect requests.

#4. Futurvention Social Networking

Duration : 9 Months

Role : Developer

Technology: J2ME, Bluetooth APIs.

Futurvention Social Networking is a Bluetooth based chat type

application where people in Bluetooth proximity can share their profiles

and communicate with one another. The application allows users to register

their profiles in Bluetooth Service Database(SERVER module) as well as

searching for all nearby devices and profiles associate with devices(Client

module).Without making any connection public profile can be shared among

the people in proximity. If any interesting profiles are found Friend

Requests can be sent and communication can take place.

Responsibilities:

a) Coding client and server module.

#5. Concert Phone

Duration : 4 months

Team Size : 3

Technology: J2ME, Nokia APIs, Android

Concert Phone provides users with a unique way to liven up their

concert experience. It is software for mobile phones that allows the user

to select the backlight color of their phone in order to participate more

fully at concerts and events. The software allows users to choose the color

they desire for the backlight. The backlight intensity can be remarkably

stronger, making the colors brighter and more noticeable. A strobe light

function will be included so that a pattern of selected colors could flash

repeatedly for certain events. There will be an option to set the colors

and patterns to rotate at different speeds. It is possible to sync many

phones at one time to the same color pattern.

Responsibilities:

a) Feasibility study and coding.

b) Involved in performance testing of the system to ensure that the

system will not be affected by any memory issues.

#6. MobileWipe Client

Duration : 4 Months

Team Size : 6

Technology: Java for Android platform, Android APIs and java for

Blackberry platform (PIM APIs)

MobileWipeClient is a client-server application that includes reading

all the data stored on the cell phone, write it on to the server, wipe

everything from the cell phone if not needed and restore if necessary. The

data includes Contacts, Call log, and card memory and sms/mms contents.

These things will be carried out according to the commands issued from the

server, such as read, write, wipe or restore commands.

Responsibilities:

a) Involved in coding the modules to fetch, store and wipe the data

for Contacts, Call Log, Phone Memory and Card memory.

b) Responsible for fetching Contacts and Call log data modules for

Blackberry using PIM APIs.
