Project Name: Library Management System in Visual Basic using SQL.

Description: The software is designed for the management of library, where all

information about books, student, staff and administration is available. Also operations

like add, delete, update, search are executed.

B.E. Project:

Project Name: Inventory Optimization using Genetic Algorithm

Team: 3

Description: Optimization of Inventory in company using genetic algorithm. It optimizes

inventory using mutation, crossover and fitness function.

For this project, we had studied on malls. Basic advantage of doing this project is

to optimize unsold stock in the malls to get transferred to other mall by foreseeing its

status.

This is a 3 level architecture, in which factory, retailer, store are members. When

retailer and store requires stock they can contact factory in their supply chain (crossover)

or they will get stock from their nearer retailer or store (mutation). The crossover and

mutation is performed on the basis of availability of stock and transportation cost.

This strategy was applied before, but user was always transforming a constant no.

of stock. Wherein, genetic algorithm, fitness function calculates different values by

observing the current status of their inventory. The value calculated from fitness function

is the no. of stock transferred. When this stock is being transferred, an auto mail (as a

report) gets generated and notifies to member who is giving the stock and the one

receiving the stock. Also the bill is generated.

In this project, the system is controlled by admin, but we can use it as a good

application to control many supply chain on large scale.
