Inconstructionindustry,mortarsplaysavitalrolewhichare redmudmortar,limemortar,cementmortaretc.,itisfoundthatproductionof cementcontributesignificantlytoemissionofcarbondioxide.Thisphenomenon hasforcedscientiststoinventanalternativebuildingmaterialtocement.Geo polymerhasthepotentialtoreplaceordinaryPortlandcement.Durabilityof mortarisaffectedduetomoisturepenetration.Itisnecessarytoblockthepores andvoidsonthesurfaceofthemortar.Thebestmethodtorectifytheproblemis hydrophobiccoatingonthesurface.Inthisstudy,geopolymermortarwascasted byusingthematerialsofclassflyashfineaggregateandalkalineactivated solutionassodiumsilicateandhydroxide.Basedontheliteraturereview,the moralityofNoahsolutionsused8,10,12,14specimenswerecuredattemperature 80cfor24hours.Aftercuring,thespecimensdeterminedthecompressive strength.Thehighestcompressivestrengthspecimenswerecoatedbysilica emulsionsandsilicafumeanditresultedasdecreasesthewaterpenetrationand increasesthedurability.
