COMMUNICATION

Managed a team of highly skilled engineers to refresh over 80 P4 frames containing hundreds of virtual servers, under my guidance the team also refreshed 118 P5 frames (again with hundreds of virtual servers) against a target of 120 for the year. These successful numbers were reached even with significant numbers of reductions in the life cycle management areas and overtime restrictions, however even with the restrictions I managed to saved IBM over $700,000 in penalties.

Among the server requiring refresh were VIO servers. These are the most technically difficult and subject the environments to the most risk of impact. Even with the reduced staff the team and I delivered 54 servers refreshes against a target of 60. Considering the conditions this was a successful number.

Aside from the frame refreshes I also needed to move the P Series environments off an aging storage arrays to refreshed storage arrays. This is a technically difficult and arduous activity. These were performed with very little to no impacts. Under the challenging conditions I was still able to deliver 13 of the 15 Array migrations for the year, saving $1.6 million.

Completed over 440 AIX server builds, decommission 23 storage arrays, migrated and decommissioned 78 SAN switches and upgraded the operating systems on over 700 servers.
