• Scholarships: The Gerald Schwartz and Heather Reisman Foundation Scholarship (2019), John Howard Ambrose Scholarship (2018), NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (2017) United World College of South East Asia – International Baccalaureate; Singapore 2007 – 2014 EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
AREVO – Process Engineering Co-op; Santa Clara, California May 2018 – Dec. 2018
§ Designed, conducted and reported a DOE study that increased production of carbon fiber composites parts by 50%.
§ Built the Arevo R&D database using Google Scripts and Python. The system transfers data from the R&D lab to a centralized repository. This work vastly simplified data storage, and enabled advances in data analysis.
§ Completed materials test reports on various characterization studies including short-beam shear performance and rheology behaviour.
Biointerface Lab – Co-op Researcher; Montreal, Canada Jan. 2017 – Apr. 2017
§ Researched a novel approach in a wet-lab environment to produce thin film carboxyl-group coatings on polymer surfaces with the objective of facilitating bone deposition.
§ Utilized a range of surface characterization techniques including FTIR spectroscopy and XPS to characterize properties of thin films and the degree of bone deposition.
§ Managed laboratory assets to ensure safe storage of lab equipment. Structo 3D – Materials Engineering Intern; Singapore May 2016 – Aug. 2016
§ Formulated a photo-sensitive resin for Structo’s 3D printing, SLA technology.
§ Led a study assessing the technological and business feasibility of 3D printing pharmaceutical capsules as part of an effort to expand Structo’s market beyond the dental industry. ENGINEERING PROJECTS AND COURSWORK AT MCGILL
Process and Materials Design – Montreal, Canada Jan. – Apr. 2019
§ Conducted a complete front-end loading (FEL 01) study for a brownfield project to replace a mine’s energy demands with renewable energy sources.
§ Built an economic model to determine the degree of alternative energy replacement by optimizing for the NPV. Technology Business Plan Project – Be’ersheva, Israel Jan. – Apr. 2019
§ Developed a commercialization strategy for a programming technology known as behavioural programming.
§ Collaborated with PhDs and Undergrads from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), a university in Israel.
§ Further, pitched commercialization strategy to Venture Capitalists in Canada and Israel. Anaysis, Modelling and Optimization in Mineral Processing – Montreal, Canada Jan. – Apr. 2018
§ Constructed linear models to economically optimize mineral processing transport networks.
§ Developed competencies in JMP, Minitab and Excel. Nationalities Scripting & Software Engineering Interests USA, Canada, UK Python, GScript, AutoCAD, ANSYS Polymers, Aluminium, 3D Printing Pearce Jones
