Analytical and accomplished drilling engineer with 15+ years of innovation and success.

Lead engineering and operations for various well drilling projects in various conditions on an international scale.

Champion well planning with a regard for accuracy and quality, continuously pinpointing and managing risks to complete deliverables on time with few issues.

Maintain full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards when developing well engineering solutions.

Excellent interpersonal skills used to communicate between teams, obtain information and deliver technical support with drilling systems and equipment.

Effectively manage resources and ensure appropriately allocated funds for project success.

Technically proficient in Landmark Suite: OpenWells, Compass, StressCheck and WellPlan.

Hold a Master of Science in Hydrocarbons Exploration and Production, a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and an IWCF certificate.

Professional Experience

Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations

Drilling Engineer, 9/2012 – 12/2016

Drove successful engineering and operations for drilling horizontal wells and appraisal vertical wells in carbonate formations. Experienced with long-lateral wells and drilling through multiple reservoirs across unstable shale layers. Performed well planning, monitoring milestones, managing costs and resources. Applied analytical thinking to identify gaps, diagnose issues and resolve them to meet quality standards and deadlines. Conceptualized and initiated front-end design to drill long departure-high turn ERD wells. Performed casing design for wells with varying depths to cope with hole instability and well integrity. Formulated drillstring design and optimizations. Advanced projects by conducting detailed feasibility studies. Ensured full compliance with all health, safety and environmental standards.

Successfully drilled wells in high H2S oil fields with concentrations as high as 100000 ppm due to extensive planning, a high regard for safety and effective operations management.

Triggered significant improvement in 8 ” deviated hole ROP -45 to 58 fph in well BB-1044- by removing a dull string stabilizer in the proposed BHA.

Reduced congestion caused by pipelines, roads and manned facilities during development of largest onshore field in UAE by implementing pad/cluster drilling.

Awarded employee of the month for outstanding contributions to the BAB drilling project.

Delivered conceptual and design engineering to drill around 300 future horizontal wells from pads in BAB field involving drilling 3D trajectories for long horizontal, long departure wells, sorting collision issues for a field with more than 1000 wells and assessing torque and drag limitations.

Repsol, Ecuador (Onshore Operation)

Drilling and Completions Engineer, 12/2006 – 8/2012

Steered seamless engineering and operations by applying technical acumen, collaboration and analytical thinking. Supported drilling and completing horizontal wells and slant wells with a 2000 hp drilling rig from pads in a cluster-type drilling operation. Conducted cluster drilling of high complexity wells involving 3D trajectories and sidetrack operations in open and cased holes. Drove project success by managing costs and resources, coordinating operations, streamlining communications among team and identifying, managing and preventing risks. Prepared scope of work for tendering over 20 services for drilling and completion campaign.

Overcame logistical barriers of transporting supplies to remote areas of the jungle in Ecuador through planning and coordinating movement of materials by helicopter, resulting in saved time and efficient drilling operations.

Saved operating time and boosted efficiency by introducing cutting-edge technologies like gyro while drilling.

Avoided and reduced losses in depleted permeable zones while maintaining stability of shale by using reinforcement and sealing materials for wellbore strengthening; drilled unstable zones in highly deviated wells using water base mud to overcome environmental barriers.

Completed horizontal wells using sand control techniques and new technologies such as autonomous inflow control devices (AICD), standalone sand control screens and swell packers.

Designed and deployed dual concentrically encapsulated ESP completions to produce from two reservoirs.

Successfully drilled more than 19 horizontal wells from cluster patterns with 12-feet spacing involving high complex 3D trajectory; introduced first and reliable point the bit RSS in Pacific area region.
