Graduating June 2019. Software Skills

LabView Git/Github Qlik Sense

MATLAB Microsoft TFS / TFVC Microsoft Office

SolidWorks SQL Hadoop (Hive + Impala)

Employment Experience

Becton Dickinson (BD), San Diego, CA

Data Science Intern:June 2018 - September 2018

Responsible for developing data visualization tools for software engineering teams, working extensively with data governance and engineers to define and implement the analysis and security requirements.

● Interviewed engineers to document key questions and opportunities that could be analyzed and understood with customer usage data. Curated data using HIVE on Hadoop and implemented a prototype Qlik Sense dashboard. Then facilitated the creation of a new database, that excluded patient identifiable data, and created a new, updated dashboard. Resulted in software engineers having new usage analytics concerning their medication management products and enabled significant design improvements.

● Additionally, designed and carried out training protocol for Microsoft Team Foundation Server version control for the Analytics Services team. Resulted in the implementation of version control within the Analytics Services team Cardiovascular Modeling Laboratory, University of California, Irvine Undergraduate Researcher: June 2017 – February 2018 Developed MATLAB code for cell image processing and data analysis. Worked with linear and nonlinear regression and classification methods, as well as hypothesis testing methods. Improved upon existing method of detection of abnormally shaped nuclei in order to improve the precision/consistency of mutation detection. Received U-SHIP grant for improvement of image processing software in the amount $1,200. 1

Kestrel Biosciences, Carlsbad CA

Summer Intern: July 2015 - August 2016

Performed lab operations and development of lateral flow and ELISA systems. Ran western blots, synthesized colloidal gold, prepared solutions, aided in the development of an ELISA, and other miscellaneous lab work as requested by the staff.Aided in the development and manufacturing of lateral flow tests. Education

University of California, Irvine, CA Attending, September 2015 - Present

● Samueli School of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Major

● Specialization: Biophotonics

● NCAA Division I Cross Country and Track & Field Sept 2015 – Dec 2016 UC Irvine Engineering Design Projects:

Continuous Blood Pressure Monitoring System (Senior Design/Capstone Project): Designed, prototyped, built and programed a wrist mounted blood pressure monitor that acquired data via PPG sensors. My major responsibilities included product design, signal processing, and defining design requirements with physicians interested in our product.

EKG (Electrocardiogram):

Designed, built and tested a working electrocardiogram using a breadboard and an oscilloscope. Built signal amplifiers and bandpass filters to make the signal visible and clean.

Trocar:

Designed, built, and marketed an affordable laparoscopic trocar and pitched the product to our classmates. My primary responsibilities included designing the product in Solidworks, streamlining that design to lower production costs, and producing a 3D printed model of the product.

Pulse oximeter:

Designed, built and programmed a rudimentary pulse oximeter using an Arduino circuit board, an LED, and photoreceptor. Although I helped in all aspects of the project, my primary responsibilities concerned writing code to analyze the data in LabView. 2
