Individual Claims Leadership

Proactively manage individual claims from notification to closure, investing the necessary levelof involvement required for each claim depending on, inter alia, the nature, category, maturity, type and quantum of the claim.

Follow at all times Jubilee’s Claims Reserving Philosophy and Claims Standards.

Develop, iterate, document and execute claims strategies taking into account uncertainties, key decisions, potential outcomes and estimated associated costs.

Claims Portfolio Management

Manage claims portfolio(s) to optimise performance including:

Develop an understanding of marketing and underwriting strategies for your business area and contribute to business development and renewal opportunities by attending client meetings to explain the Beazley claims philosophy and approach to claims handling, and discussing any claims issues.

Provide input to underwriters on review of potential or existing insured’s claims experience.Feedback claims trends and developments and their potential impact on the book.

Working with Kenya Airways Limited as Insurance officer performing the following task:

Evaluate, negotiate and recommend valid claims for approval to fulfill the company’s contractual obligations for customer retention.

Directly interact with customers and resolve claims complaints to enhance customer satisfaction.

Instruct appointed lawyers to take-up claims in litigation and subsequently monitor, support and propose the appropriate direction of litigation to minimize loss exposure to the company.

Maintain a claims data archiving system as per legislation to protect the company’s exposure to recurring claims.

Recover claims costs from responsible third parties to reduce company costs.

Analyze incident and loss trends and monitor implementation measures to minimize losses.
