Shannon E. Stewart, MSN, RN, APRN, FNP-BC, FNP-C, CCRN
Dear Recruiter,
I am writing to inquire about a Nurse Practitioner position. As a December 5th, 2018 graduate from South University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, I have seventeen and one half (17 ) years of clinical experience in critical care settings as a critical care Registered Nurse and hold CCRN certification. I am energetic, creative, personable and hardworking. I highly value team-based healthcare and believe that each discipline uniquely contributes to best practice. At heart, I am an advanced practice nurse with a passion for providing excellent healthcare for individuals across the life span. My expertise lies in providing exceptional patient service and compassionate care within various environments such as, but not limited to, internal medicine, pediatrics, and acute care facilities. I have over 850 clinical hours of practice in which I addressed a wide range of clinical issues facing pediatric patients, elderly patients and their care givers, including managing diabetes, glaucoma, Alzheimer’s, and hospice/end of life care. My clinical experience and training enables me to triage patients, conduct patient interviews, propose diagnosis and treatment plans and make referrals for patients who need ongoing specialized or emergency care.
As a resident of Florida over 10 years, I am committed to remaining in the area to serve the health care needs in my community. With more than 24 years of experience providing patient care and exceptional treatment, I am confident that my skills and background will allow me to greatly benefit your practice.
To highlight my experience:
I have extensive experience working in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams in the critical care setting as a critical care Registered Nurse. These experiences have taught me how to address patients and care givers professionally and respectfully, discuss their concerns, and manage their frustrations. What I cherish most about my role as a clinician is working in collaborations with other health professionals, patients and care givers to address a complex health issue with both clinical and educational tools. My professional goals attending school part time to obtain my DNP.
With my vast knowledge and experience, I am well positioned to enhance patient care for your practice. I look forward to discussing this opportunity, along with my qualifications, with you soon. In the interim, thank you for your consideration.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Shannon Stewart. Shannon was an MSN student who rotated through my office over the past few months. She completed her Women’s Care studies with me. Shannon was always very professional. She is a student who comes to the office very well-prepared. Her patient evaluations are extremely thorough, and her bedside manner is impeccable. She gives high quality presentations of patient histories. Her ability to stay on top of differential diagnoses is impressive.
Shannon was always enthusiastic and very involved with the operational aspects of patient care. She has a thorough understanding of our healthcare system. Further, she showed a willingness to teach other students. She is a leader, not a follower. I really enjoyed teaching Shannon, and I can recommend her for a Nurse Practitioner position, without caveat. She would be a welcome addition to any healthcare team. Please feel free to call me if you have further questions, or if you’d like to discuss Shannon further.
Sincerely Yours,

To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write this letter of reference on behalf of Shannon Stewart. Shannon was an MSN student who completed a 10 week/180 hour Gerontology clinical rotation with me. Mrs. Stewart is a consummate professional. She was always prepared, well organized, and displayed a great deal of caring and excellent bedside manner to the patient population and families that we serve.
Clinically, Shannon obtained thorough histories and was very thoughtful in her selection of differential diagnoses. Shannon has demonstrated understanding of the current healthcare environment and showed a willingness to stay abreast of current trends in medicine. Shannon is creative and insightful and I have no doubt that she will be an asset to any organization choosing to hire her as a Nurse Practitioner. I can unequivocally recommend her to you. To Whom It May Concern:
It is my great pleasure that I provide a letter of recommendation on behalf of Shannon Stewart for the Nurse Practitioner position. I have known Ms. Stewart since July 2018 and have had the opportunity to precept her for 180 hours for her pediatric rotation at South University. I became familiar with her personality and strong work ethic and feel she would be a wonderful asset to your practice.
As a Nurse Practitioner myself, I know the skills needed to be successful in our profession . She possesses the leadership needed to be a knowledgeable, professional, and caring Nurse Practitioner. She is willing to research and apply evidence based practices into her nursing judgement, which will aid in being a successful provider. She is able to critically think in situations of high stress at the same time keeping patients' safety top priority . She is very friendly and able to work well in a dynamic and multidisciplinary setting.
I highly recommend Shannon Stewart for your Nurse Practitioner position. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me Sincerely,
