The ward receives patients for elective and emergency surgery: thyroidectomy; mastectomy; pyloroplasty; gastrectomy; pancreaticoduodenectomy; exploratory laparotomy; sigmoidectomy; colectomy; transversostomy; abdominalperineal resection; apendicectomy; laparoscopic cholecystectomy; cholecystectomy; varicose vein surgery; herniorrhaphy; amputations; hemorrhoidectomy; fistulectomy; Hartman ́s surgery. Patients are admitted with different diseases and conditions such as: colitis, diabetes, cancer (thyroid, pancreas, breast and bowel), pancreatitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, cholangitis, cholecystitis, chron disease, deep venous thrombosis, intestinal sub-oclusion and intestinal occlusion.
