Bachelor Thesis:

Title : Process improvement using lean techniques.

Company : Arvind limited.

Description : the project was carried out at Arvind limited who are the manufacturers and exporters of apparels. Different types of wastes are identified in sewing department and then eliminate or minimize the same using lean principles. So the main aim of the project is to reduce the waste and find out the causes for the defects and suggest suitable solutions for their elimination. The Methodology adopted is “Reactive improvement” where the proper item is identified, the data is collected and analyses, for the relevant data causes are identified and analyses, and the solution for the causes of defects is found. During the study, Quality control tools such as Pareto diagram, Cause and effect diagram and 5s principles were used to collect, Analyse and evaluate the results. 2

Outcome : Implementation of lean techniques helps in decreasing in rework and increasing in productivity.

The quality control tool was helped in increasing the product quality and productivity. Professional Experience:

Working as Industrial Engineer at Spoton Logistics, Infantry road, Bengaluru from December-2016 to Present.

Key Responsibilities Handled:

Designed layouts so as to eliminate unnecessary motion.

Study the process of different service centres, Identify the Non value added activities using time motion study.
