-Ensures that medication profiles are being prepared for each patient
-Audits patient medication boxes
-Ensures that the right medications are given at the right dose, at the right time and at the right route of administration for each patient.
-Delivers the medicines of the patients in Unit Dose Drug Distribution System (UDDDS) which is providing the 24 hour medications of each patient in the ward.
-Checks for drug-drug, drug-food interactions
-Monitors the expiration dates of the drugs in the emergency carts
-Answers inquiries regarding availability of the drug in the outsource pharmacy, stability of reconstituted medications, maximum dose and time of administration of the drug
