Mammographer/Radiologic Technologist

Perform all mammographic procedures encompassing screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast localization, core biopsy and proper specimen processing. Demonstrate competence and proficiency with all equipment. Carry out QC/QA testing on mammogram and stereotactic equipment as well as accurately record all results. Able to execute bone density exams. Complete accurately all necessary paperwork for studies, i.e. charges for procedures, consent, pathology requests and update patient files. Replace any used supplies and notifies supervisor of any needed supplies. Participate in the training, development and instruction of staff and radiology students. Prepare and position patients for x-rays and selects exposure factors accurately. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Maintain x-ray room, stock necessary radiological supplies. Protect patients and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards. Work closely with the Physician, PA, or NP to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients. Train new employees.
