Carle is a hospital I would volunteer for. I would do this because I wanted to go into the medical field, but know that I know that I don’t want to do medical, I still do it for the people there. My facilitator is a very nice and sweet human being. I have made good relationships with some of the nurses. They are so sweet. I help her with answering the phone and stalking up the coffee machine and the cabinets. I also help the people, a guide them to correct place in the hospital.

Kumon is a tutoring program for Pre-K to high school students. When I am at home I go and volunteer for them I tutor up to my grade math or reading. (This is during the summer) This year I did up to 11th grade. In Kumon we have volunteer and workers. The workers are more prioritized because they are getting paid. But in my hometowns kumon a lot of people come and want to volunteer. For that reason our instructor chose me as the head of volunteer. What I do is I look at the shift of the volunteer, and I keep track of them. I also teach them how to grade the worksheets, where supplies can be found, and introduce them to other workers/volunteer. Sometime the workers do my job, but most of the time the people who are paid are always busy with their work.

My average hour is 4 hour week just my shifts, but I also help people after or before of shift times. Being a head tutor we have the responsibility to see if the sophomores are adjusting to school correctly in a academic standpoint. Being a head tutor we need to guide the peer tutors, and give them shifts when to work. Every semester do study sessions where we can help a specific subject when a teacher isn’t available. This can be held during 9 pm or even on I-Days.

Student Ambassador is program essentially promoting our school, and showing perspective students what opportunities and this school is. When I am doing Student ambassador I am doing tours, trying to have the program go smoothly and even informing parents about IMSA.

In Allies I am a mentor and a curriculum writer.Allies is a club where kids ranging from 3rd to 5th graders come to IMSA, and students who participate in Allies teach these kids in a fun and educational way. In Allies, I am a mentor and curriculum writer for Summer@IMSA. Being a mentor I teach new Allie Members how to teach a classroom, how to make the lesson engaging, and sometimes how to act with the kids. With the new Allie members we also do group work and act like a kid to have a first hand experience. As a curriculum writer we write a full week of lesson, and this will be taught at Summer @ IMSA in Springfield and other places in Illinois. Our group meets every week and share ideas about what the week should be. Later we will start writing the lesson.

Chemistry Club

Chemistry Club is a club where we incorporate chemistry into projects. These projects are to have fun, informational, and stress free. Some of the programs we have done is slime event, where we made slime and talked to them about how and why a slime is. We have also done Ice cream Event, where a group of people made their own ice cream. This ice cream event would portray freezing point.

Swimming

In Swimming we individually practice. We are in our designated lanes, these lanes are determined our time. My lane was 3. 1 is the fastest and 6 is the improvement lane. During the season I am usually the leader for lane 3, I just say what is next in our set. I also make sure everything is okay.

Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a competition. I am on the varsity team here. Usually I do chemistry or biology events, such as Anatomy and Physiology, and meteorology. I have gotten medals for these events. In science olympiad meeting we research or work on our project. For me I research a lot because I have memorization events. When I was in 8th grade I had a building event with Robots. During 6th grade I was an alternate, but after that I was on the team.

To get this award we have to the national german test during March. With a certain score, we get the gold, sliver, and bronze. The test was very hard for a German 1 student, but I exceptionally did well.

Swimming Relay 200 invite award

Grade 9, 10

Swim Invite in swim means 3 to 4 team teams compete and try to win. On do this there's alot of events to determine the overall winner. During a Relay we got first and got medal. It was a 200 free Relay . In a reay it consists of 4 people, and each of people have to swim a 50, and the first group that finishes is the winner. It is teamwork, if someone gets behind it is our teams job to get the pace faster. Everyone is dependent on everyone. I got this 2 times, one in 9th grade and 10th grade.

This is an award given that is shows good quality and good achievements in school. I got this awarded when I was in 8th grade. This is given to 100 students from our district to show appreciation for these young achievers. Young Achievers Award can range from academic, artistic ability, sports, and music. I am really honored to have this award.

QED Successful Mathematics Research

Grade 8, 9

3 students were chosen to do a math research and present it. We presented this math research at QED. QED is a program where I showed and presented my math research to math professionals from all over CHicago. This program was held in Chicago. This Award shows my satisfactory about my mathematics research. There was a award just for the attempt which was bronze and their was the silver which was the QED Successful Mathematics Research, and the gold which excelled the standards of the judges. I was awarded this in 8th grade and in 9th grade
