PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Software Engineer (January 2017 – February 2019)
Adtalem Global Education, Chatsworth, CA
Crafted improvements using a variety of programming and scripting languages like LESS, HTML, TypeScript, and Java to solve software bugs tracked in JIRA from a compilation of user stories. Enhanced organizational processes and production by solving problems and exploiting new opportunities through gathering requirements, designing, conceiving, measuring, and deployment of software solutions. Operated independently and as a team member to develop software and systems tailored to support industry needs.
•Developed a web-based text editor Java application used to manage content, in an application, resulting in improved productivity and replacing a legacy product that required HTML knowledge to edit the same content.
•Performed customization to a TypeScript application utilizing React as a pilot program. The pilot program received outstanding reviews and is under consideration for global sales with projected revenue of $500K+.
•Performed day-of-release bug fixes in various projects I was not currently working on using a combination of HTML, Javascript, Java, React, and CSS that would otherwise delay a critical release.
Technical Skills: Java, HTML, JavaScript, React, MySQL, Rackspace, Linux, IntelliJ, Git, SourceTree, Jira, Confluence, Bamboo
Associate Software Engineer (April 2012 - January 2017)
Adtalem Global Education, Chatsworth, CA
Drove the technical configuration, advancement, and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform distributed application systems. Examined, determined, and chronicled requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems. By organizing, coding, testing, implementation, and verification ensured achievement performance levels exceeded expectations.
•Created a site-to-site status monitoring TypeScript application for an unstable, vital virtual private network where no foreseeable error correction existed. The VPN provided a deadline-driven information route for continuous deployments for the Quality Assurance Team. The application improved customer satisfaction as deadlines directly correlated to exam periods.
•Architected an SDLC through coding, migrating scripts from Jenkins, and writing new scripts that made building and deploying software from Bamboo to QA, Staging, and Production environments possible. The results removed the risk of implementing incorrect code sets into the production environment by 90% and improved continuous integration by 100%.
•Led the crucial migration of source code from Subversion to Git, installed and set up a Stash Server. Also, integrated a Git source code management system to enhance the productivity of developers, management team, and QA during the management and control of software releases.
Technical Skills: Java, Bamboo, Bash, Dos, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJs, Bamboo, Jira, Confluence, Stash, Git, SVN, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL
System Support Analyst (November 2010 - April 2012)
Adtalem Global Education, Chatsworth, CA
Implemented technical expertise for the company. Full responsibility for the functionality, resources, software applications, hardware, security, and recovery of data. Completed end-user cabling, hardware setup, and software installation. Administered features of server management, workstation performance, and printer operability on the network and in standalone environments. Completed a series of test cases on multiple pieces on software across three platforms and utilized the JIRA tracking system to report software error conditions.
•Investigated and reproduced actions that resulted in a critical issue that prevented students from accessing a significant portion of the system’s content. The problem resulted in a 12 percent decrease in sales in one month. Elevating the issue and identifying the reproducible actions, enabled the developed team to correct the problem with a corresponding recovery in sales volume.
•Setup 100 instructor laptops manually in one week allowing classes to begin as scheduled the following week.
