IT PROJECT EXPERIENCE – San Francisco State University As a class project, collaborated with a team of three to create an e-commerce storefront selling limited release shoes. Designed a 7-page website and logo and helped manage business objects. The site featured make/edit video capabilities with Shotcut, make/edit audio clips, and a 3D design scenario with Sketchup, also able to edit photos and logos with GIMP and Inkscape. Building an application using Swift and Xcode to improve the transparency between consumer allergens and dietary restrictions and menu items served at local restaurants. Was able to mentor colleague engineers the engineering skills I learned. As an avid user of phone applications and software, I insisted on designing, testing and debugging consistent and responsive applications to iterate on a good user interaction and experience.
Managed 3 people and designed a database on MAC OS command line using SQL programming code and Oracle. The database showed the dataflow from a payment system of an e-commerce retail store from the product the customer ordered to the products manufacturer. Logicized queries to answer business problems and help make business decisions. Used ETL to process and translate data. Managed a project comprised of 4 team members to create a network integrating a raspberry Pi, router and a phone. The network integrated with home automation using open source software from OpenHab on Linux OS. The automation had mobile capability for a weather widget that read and showed humidity, temperature, etc. in the home. By using a program called Wireshark to read information shared over a network, we were able to prove that we had made a network and could identify the three points from the network (phone, openhab on raspberry Pi, and router) interacting with one another, fulfilling the project’s goal.
Analyzed and designed a system that connected a restaurant's diet-based menu items to the dietary preferences of consumers based on the hypotheses that people want to track their eating trends. Used UML and Use Case diagrams to show the process and flow of the system. Created web-application and iOS application platform to easily find dietary preferences for users. As a team member of an internet security class project formed a consulting company that would inform people about the potential risks of IoT (internet of things) and to educate the clients on how to protect themselves utilizing the correct security measures while having IoT over an unsecure network. To accomplish this objective, facilitated finding unsecure IoT over home networks with a website called Shodan (an internet website to search for devices with IP addresses on networks). Using this site, anticipated frequently asked questions, and provided active demonstrations to show how client’s home networks could be hacked and their IoT easily controlled remotely, utilizing scenarios such as printing on someone else’s printer, being able to watch people in their homes, etc. Rather than frightening the clients, provided them with a sense of security that their issues had been anticipated, and proactively solutioned.
Developed a personal website hosting project with WordPress, to publish self-written articles, perform photo editing, logo design and website management, with the intent to promote ten second satirical vignettes drawn from the restaurant industry, for the discerning internet audience – a modern-day version of a newspaper cartoonist, to be marketed on Instagram and Facebook. In process of producing original material for the homepage beta version. SKILLS
