Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment
Concentration: Kinesiology
Dissertation: “Transfer of Training for Powerlifting utilizing a Bayesian Network”
This research used web scrapping and a Bayesian network to provide a data driven approach to make transfer of training models.
This study was the first known to use machine learning approaches and research related to exercise physiology.
M.S. Miami University Aug 2014
Kinesiology and Health
Concentration: Exercise and Health Science
Thesis: “Mathematical and Computational Verification of the Use of Localized
Infrared Thermology in the Detection of Muscle Recovery Post-Resistance Training”
This research used mathematical and computational modeling that localized infrared thermology could be used to access muscle recovery status post-resistance training.
The study was one of the first to explore the theoretical application of the use of thermal cameras in the detection of muscle damage/recovery status.
Study Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, England Spring 2012
Abroad Biotechnology/ Confocal Microscopy
Honors College of Mount Saint Joseph May 2012
B.S. Biology with a minor in Chemistry
Thesis: “Use of the Drosophila Activity Monitoring System to Measure Baseline Circadian Rhythms of the Bean Beetle Callosobruchus maculatus”
This research was funded by Emory University through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
The project required methodical work to address health and safety regulations, critical thinking, and close attention to detail in order to achieve accurate results.
